IMPORTANT PRE-RACE INFORMATION

09:00 – 2k Fun Run

09:45 – 5k Race

11:00 – 10k Race

Race numbers should be picked up from the Registration tables at the Event Centre.

Registration shall be open from 08:00 so please make sure you leave plenty of time to do so in order to get to the starting line.

Car Parking

To avoid disruption please aim to car share, arrive early and park sensibly within the car park.

CAR PARKING. Event parking is self navigation to Northwich Town Centre CW95LG. This will take you onto Leicester St.

CAR PARK 1….Cumberland car park and access to the event. CAR PARK 2….Barons Quay (Asda) note..parking limitations.

CAR PARK 3…..The old council yard situated immediately after Aldi.

There are a number of other car parks nearby most have time limits which are strictly enforced. Please use parking bays and not grass verges. The future of the event depends on your cooperation in parking in parking bays only. Allow 10 minutes from car parks to event centre. There is strictly no parking on Marbury Lane.

Bag Drop

A bag drop facility will be provided at event centre next to registration.

Race Timing

The race will be timed using ankle electronic timing systems. It is compulsory for all runners to wear their timing chip; failure to do so will result in you not being classified in the race results.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded as soon as results are processed. Approx (5k) 11:10am. (10k) 12:10pm.

Toilets

Provided at the event centre and at Marbury Park (7k point if the 10k race).

Event Centre

So what’s going on at the EVENT CENTRE…. Registration, Bag Drop Off, Toilets, Hot and Cold Food, Craft activities (provided by The Joshua Tree Charity). A Fire Engine if available and Race Commentary. Oh and of course Joshua the Giraffe and Peppa Pig..

Hot Weather

Please note..The event centre and Start and Finish areas are in the open. Please bring a bottle of water with you.

Food and Drink

2k Fun Run… Half Way

5K…At 1.5k and 4k

10k…At 1.5k, 4k and 9k and water is available at the toilets at Marbury Park 6k.

All finishers will receive a bottle of water at the finish. It might be a bit warm.

There will be hot and cold food and drink on offer in the event centre, plus there are a number of local food retailers along Northwich Town High Street.

Roads & The Use of Headphones

The road section in both the 5K and 10K are on private roads, not open to the public, but they are not closed to park rangers, service vehicles and emergency vehicles. Because of this, please do not have two ear earpieces in at any time to ensure that you can hear any approaching vehicles. You must also be able to hear the marshals at all times.

Important Safety Information

We shall be closing the road down past the tip, so please be advised that pedestrians shall be on the road.

The races themselves involve running on both road and trails, so please dress wisely. Marshals shall be stationed around each course, and the paths shall be sign posted, however please take time to learn the routes ahead of race day.

Please run on the left hand side of the road at all times unless instructed otherwise by a marshal, we will also have “roving” marshals on bicycles to ensure the runners safety, and be aware that all roads are open to emergency service vehicles.
